The AOMSI is a registered organization committed to promoting excellence in academic and clinical standards in this unique specialty dealing with the surgical treatment of diseases and disorders of the Oral and Maxillofacial region.

The Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was started in 1969 under the banner of Association of Oral Surgeons of India (AOSI). Its founders included the late Dr MSN Ginwalla, Dr C.K. Dhanasekharan, Late Dr C.G. Raju, Late Dr.K. Ramachandran, Late Dr S.S. Khera and Dr A.P. Chitre.

The AOSI was officially affiliated to the International Association during the Sydney conference in 1977.

The AOSI was renamed as Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (AOMSI) in 1985.                                                                                                                                                           more...
